  1. Bipartisan group of senators close to deal on immigration plan

A group of bipartisan senators are on the border to a new understandable immigration reform bill with the stickiest issues, path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, a metrics for securing the border and they are working on how to create a guest worker program for the future. The eight senator, four Democrats and four Republicans will have their last meeting on Friday and will be ready to unveil the bill early in the week of April 8th. One big issue is the future flow of low skilled guest workers that came to the U.S. to work. They are arguing on how much the workers should paid and how many to allow into the country each year. Labor unions are arguing for higher pay and fewer worker per year, while the Chamber of Commerce is pushing for lower pay and more workers per year. Another issue is how long immigrants would have to wait before applying to receive a green card and how long they would have to wait after receiving their green to for U.S. citizenship. The overall time for the path to citizenship is 13 years, eight year to get green card and five more years to get citizenship.

The new immigration reform bill in my opinion is a good thing because it will limit the trafficking of people from Mexico to the U.S., make more illegal immigrants want to apply for their citizenship and possible stop drug trafficking to the U.S.. The Gang of Eight ( the eight senators) will have the support of most immigrants that have been in the U.S. for many years and now get the chance to become a U.S. citizen.

So what the bipartisan group and the senators are doing is that they are creating a set of laws to allow illegal immigrants to apply and become citizens right but think about all of the limitations they are putting on the people who work hard to provide for their families, all of the laws that are waiting to be passed to make the people wait an extremly long time to get their green card.

  2. Immigrants Held in Solitary Cells, Often for Weeks

This article writes about the problems in incarcerating immigrates for example that they aren't give their complete rights and that they are put in cells for civil crimes not criminal crimes. It explains that many immigrates don’t know their rights and just think the United States is doing their job. However they also classify immigrates as gay or mentally ill so they are put in solitary cells. It explains how the governments system is failing to give all immigrates their rights. Also debates how the constitution was built to protect all Americans rights but not immigrates because they aren’t Americans according to the law. Classifying immigrates for their theories or their beliefs is unjust and unfair according to the federal government but it’s being practiced in their cells. The debate has started what kind of rights to immigrates have?
    http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/24/us/immigrants-held-in-solitary-cells-often-for-weeks.html?hp&_r=0
I think that just because you aren’t American doesn’t mean you should be treated like dirt or anything less than a humans. We might not be Americans, we might not be born here but were still humans and deserve the same respect. America was built around immigrates, the Europeans came from Europe to escape from religious incarceration and to explore more land. So what is the difference know? America is the land were dreams can come true. So why can’t we have the right to make our dreams come true? When did it matter where you were born? I hope congress can change this injustice because I don’t want my children to have to live in a land where you are judged by the kind of papers you have.

I think that these FBI people were lucky that they even caught that man in the first place. The only reason they did was because someone snitched on Bo Jiang. But it was a very good thing that they did because Jiang was also caught for giving false statements to the FBI and his boss at NASA, mr.Wolf.

  4. North Korea's Threats: 5 things to know

Here lately Korea has been making threats on the us, five things to worry about are... their leader is very communist who is only 29, one of their top generals spoke of hitting washington directly. However, their nuclear bombs are not ready yet, which is what the U.S. is most worried about

    http://www.cnn.com/2013/03/22/world/asia/north-korea-five-things/index.html?hpt=wo_c1

Personally i dont think they should be displaying this kind of news on the internet, because one, it shows that we do feel threatened by Korea, which shows weakness, and two it could put american citizens in panic. The government needs to handle these kind of threats and issues without getting the press and the people involved. Sometimes the government releases too much information on topics that should be more "behind the scenes."

    1. I agree with Jessica when it comes to keeping some things behind closed doors. People talk and things could get around and if North Korea found out that their threats were causing this much terror then that gives them satisfaction, and shows weakness, which is the last thing that we need is for our country to look weak ans afraid.

  5. Israel fires into Syria after Golan attack on troops

Jerusalem fired upon Syria on Sunday and destroyed a Syrian machine gun post that fired upon Israeli soldiers from within the Golan Heights. It is still not known whether or not the shots were fired by Syrian troops or by the Rebels, but since Syria's civil war there have been many shells that have landed inside Israeli controlled land causing return fire a hand full of times. Syria's southern provinces bordering Jordan and Israel has started to become common battle ground in the Syrian civil war, Israel has stated that one of its vehicle were hit from across the Israeli-Syrian ceasefire line and it is said "wasn't stray fire".

    http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/03/24/17441350-israel-fires-into-syria-after-golan-attack-on-troops

I personally think that what Israel has started to do, fire upon Syria after they find out where they were fried upon, is a good thing. Since Israel is surrounded by enemies if they take any threat lightly then it would let the foes take the upper hand of them causing hardship for them. Now firing upon Syrian forcing when they do not know whether Syrian forces fired the shots or if the rebels fired the shots, the slightest wrong conclusion can easily cause a war with that same foe.

North Korea: Five things to know

North Korea has shown that they do have the capabilities for long range nuclear strikes but if any foe chooses to cause nuclear war with the U.S. we will strike back so fast and without hesitation and, possibly, wipe North Korea off the map. But this will cause nuclear warfare, and such an idea will lead never lead to utopian society but do quite the opposite. Nuclear warfare has the ability to destroy nations and grant land utterly useless (i.e. Chernobyl).

Database is shutdown by NASA for a review

How is it that a man was capable of stealing classified material from NASA? I do know that China bought out NASA, but the security for something such as this should be extremely thorough on every single person no matter who goes/ works there. The FBI did find out of the stolen material but they did not know who stole it, well not until someone "tattled" on Mr. Jiang. NASA should increase security ten fold so something of this sort could, hopefully, never happen again.

    North Korea threatens south islands

    http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/regions/asia-pacific/south-korea/130316/north-korea-threatens-southern-islan ds

On Saturday North Korea threatened South Korea. They were soon visited by the south's prime minister Chung Hong -won who relieved residents that they would be protected when the event of the attack from north Korea would take place, but South Korea doesn't know whether to take action on this immediately or if North Korea is bluffing. At the same time North Korea is very convincing with the treats they are sending to South Korea. In 2010 north Korea attacked the south and left them with sorrow after losing 46 soldiers and 2 civilians and they fear that it will be worst than last time.

  7. BEING HOMELESS MADE ILLEGAL

On August 13, Columbia, South Carolina passed a plan to where it is illegal to be homeless in parts of the city. This plan, Emergency Homeless Response, was proposed in order to make Columbia a safer environment which can conclude to a decreasing rate in crimes which can lead to an increase in businesses and opportunities. In this proposal, it states that people who are found sleeping on public property will be rounded up by police officers and sent to a shelter located outside of town. Those who choose to not corporate will be sent to jail. Others argue that this response is not well out thought because it cost $6,000 more to shelter a person a year than it is to permanently house someone. According to a 2012 homeless study, California, New York, Florida, Texas and Georgia account for almost half of the nation's total homeless population (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development).

I believe this is an effective plan, because it gives an opportunity to the homeless to get up on their feet and start fresh. I also agree with others that their expenses were not though out. I believe that more cities should start looking into making a similar plan to promote a safer environment for the young and for the future.

I can see both sides of this situation. Some people may enjoying being homeless, for reasons I will never understand, and also, some people are homeless and they really do not want to be. I doubt that this law will actually be effective because can they really catch all the homeless people? And are homeless people really a main cause for crimes? Homeless shelters would not be able to support all of the homeless people there. I do not think this law was very well thought out.,

  8. KENYA MALL ATTACK SURVIVOR PLAYED DEAD TO LIVE

On September 21, Narobi's Westgate Mall was attacked by militants. Elaine Dang who was there for the children's cooking competion, was a survivor. Dang was supposed to be with the crowd going towards the parking lot but her instinct told her it would be vulnerable. She went back to the building and layed on the floor and pretended to be dead. After the attack she states, "If anything it's increased the love I have for this country."

I think that she did the right thing in this situation. She did not panic but instead she stayed calm and thought through things clearly. Dang was being smart by not following through what others were doing and made decisions that would benefit her.

I agree with Kat! Dang was being very smart in trusting her instincts and playing dead in order to survive. In a situation like this, your body is going crazy, but adrenaline is rushing through your veins, and you have to make split-second decisions that your life will depend on. Dang made the right decision. However, if all seems lost, and what your instincts are telling you seems hopeless, would you still follow it? Or would you go with the most logical choice you could think of?

  9. THE OPCW WINS NOBEL PEACE PRIZE

On Friday October 11,2013 a Nobel prize was awarded to the OPCW ( organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons) for their constant success in getting county's to sign a "treaty" to get rid of their chemical weapons . Now that Syria has joined this movement, The OPCW's main goal is to destroy Syria's large supply of chemical weapons and to stop the mass production of chemical weapons . The OPCW has already started on this project by sending 35 members down to Syria October 1st, and has also started with the destruction of the chemical weapons. With help from the Damascus Government and the OPCW members , Syria will hopefully be chemical weapon free country by midyear 2014.(Oh and Syria is the 190th country to join this movement.)

WOW!!! guys this is BIG news! I personally believe the OPCW deserves The Peace Prize, and much more. To get a country like Syria to give up all their chemical weapons is not an easy task but, hey they did it and my hats off to them.
Another thing I believe deserves attention are the 35 people who are down in Syria cleaning up all those chemicals and helping Syria destroy all their toxic weapons. What people may not realize is that, the group of people down in Syria are basically giving up their lives to "benefit all of us."... So we should all take this as a lesson,to think twice before creating something that will harm other ,for it will affect you and millions of others.

Homeless people now and days are everywhere and its upsetting to admit but, theirs times where you fear that they will come up behind you and ask for money, because you never know how they will react when you tell them "I don't have any cash on me". (now I am not saying its bad to ask for money but its just something that most women fear) .....Theirs time where you can help them but theirs other time when you yourself are struggling to pay rent or even get toilet paper ,but like I said before ,this is what we "women" fear. Honestly I think if they make it illegal to be homeless it will motivate the homeless to do better ,to get a job and recover economically and change theirs lives for the better and if that doesn't work a least they will have a place to sleep but that's just my opinion.

  12. SAUDI PREACHER ONLY GETS 8 YEARS JAIL FOR KILLING DAUGHTER:

Last March, 5-year old Lama was sent to the Riydah hospital of King Saud Hospital for extensive injuries. Come to find out, She had been beaten by her father, who was a "self-styled Islamist priest." He broke her ribs, crushed her skull, and she also had many bruises and burns. The father, Al-Ghamdi, was sentenced to 8 years in prison, and 600 lashes, but the mother wants him to repay her in "blood money," which is when the person who has murdered someone will pay the family member, in this case the mother, money to make up for killing their daughter. He is receiving only 8 years and 600 lashes while four men caught dancing nude in Saudi on a car was sentenced to 2,000 lashes, and up to 10 years and prison. They did not murder, but are receiving more punishment than Al-Ghamdi..

    http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/07/world/meast/saudi-arabia-girl-death/index.html?hpt=wo_bn8

My opinion about this is that he should be tortured just as his innocent daughter was. He was a priest and encouraged people to do the right thing, but yet he tortured his own daughter. This is pure filth and he should pay in great detail for what he did to such a poor girl that will never get to live her life again. I think the mother is in the wrong for only wanting money from the father. She should want him dead, and to feel what her poor daughter did but instead all she wants is money. I think this is rather ridiculous that he barely gets any punishment while four men dancing nude get more severe punishment.

How are they going to only give him 8 years, who disturbingly killed his own daughter, while the men who danced nude ontop of a car in Saudi get 10 years in prison? I believe the father should be put to prison in life like any other person who convicted murder would get. Also, the mom needs to reevaluate her priorities and fight to give the father more years in jail than just wanting money.

I believe that the preacher should be punished in the same ways as the daughter or come to a settlement with a punishment that suits the crime and not something which falls below the punishment given to someone dancing nude on a car. In short, I believe that there should be justice for the crime commited.

Every year thousands of migrants escape to Europe in hopes of abandoning the war and poverty found in Africa and Middle East. Many of the migrants who escape are many times found dead due to the journey by boat they have to take to get to Europe. A recent tragedy was when many of the people who were leaving Libya were shot and killed, and due to the gun fire it is said to be the reason why the boat started to sink. Although some believe that "rival trafficking gangs" and "Libyan militiamen" are at fault others believe the Libyan coast guard are to blame. Regardless, to help assure safety and lower the death rate of migrants hoping to find refuge in Europe, Italian Navy has stepped up their boat patrols in what Prime Minister Enrico Letta called an "air and naval package" is said to start Monday, south of Sicily. This sudden increase in security will help save those who choose to escape rather from another attack on the shores of Libya or boats that are in distress.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-24515906

What Italy has chosen to do to assure the safety of the migrants is, in my opinion, a great way to help prevent such tragedies. By doing this I am already able to tell what an impact it will have for those who wish to escape the war and poverty found in the Middle East and Africa. This step helps prove that Europe is ready to help the people from other countries in finding a better life and are accepting these immigrants with open arms. My only concern about this is that even though they are increasing migrant boat patrols, will it still be able to help the people, if there ever was another incident such as the Libya tragedy when they are that far away from the coasts of Italy?

  15. LOST 72-YEAR-OLD SURVIVES 19 DAYS IN THE WILDERNESS

Gene Penaflor was out hunting with his buddy on September 24th. They split up at their base camp and had planned to meet up down the path a few hours later to grab lunch together. Penaflor never made it. He had walked out into the woods much farther than he had planned, and slipped on a steep slope, hitting his head. He was knocked out cold, and when he came to, he had no idea how long he had been unconscious. Penaflor had his hunting rifle, but not enough strength to hunt deer, so instead, he focused his energy on staying alive. He had to figure out what to eat and drink and how to stay warm, and for almost three weeks, his diet consisted of lizards, frogs, and squirrels. Some nights were cold, the lowest dropping to 25 degrees Fahrenheit, but Penaflor persevered, and help eventually came after much endless searching. He made it to a hospital in a town called Ukriah. Doctors checked his health then released him. He is back home with his family now, safe and sound.

I think this man is really amazing for surviving out in the wilderness without any resources on hand, and I think it's even more amazing considering his old age. If I was out in the wilderness for about three weeks, I'd be gone after 3 days, tops. Penaflor went into survival mode and made smart choices in order to stay alive, and he had hope, hope in believing that he would be found sooner or later. I think his strong will and instincts together kept him alive for so long. If I were ever stuck in a situation like his, I would do everything I could like him to survive, no matter how hard it may be.

The worst thing to do when you're somewhere you're not familiar with is to split up. The fact that this man was 72 years old and managed to know enough of survival to live 19 days in the wilderness by himself. I would have given up if it dropped before 25 degrees and if I had to eat bugs I would've much rather starved. At least the man made it out okay and is safe with his family.

This man must of really known some survival skills for him to survive in 25 degree weather with limited resources. The most shocking part was how he was 72 years old! Even people in great shape and in their 20-30s couldn't survive this. It is good to see the man made it out safe!

I give props to this man for doing what he did. The human body can endure some pretty gruesome stuff when you have the will to live. Of course nobody could imagine themselves being able to do what this man did, neither would he if it hadn't happened to him. We live comfortable lives, but when we are forced into difficult situations are bodies can react to the change. Our ancestors didn't live the way we do now, survival is a natural instinct. I'm not trying to take anything away from this man's story, I am just saying you would be surprised what you could if placed in a similar situation.

A couple in China's Henan Province went out for a walk with their 7 month old child when a drunk policeman surprised them, grabbed their child and swung her to the ground. The policeman, Guo Zengxi, was put under criminal detention while the hurt infant was taken to a child health hospital. Angered Chinese citizens have spoken so that an investigation team is set up to find justice.

I agree with the people of China that plead justice because a policeman should not abuse of his power. My first question to this is if they parents of the baby knew the policeman was drunk why would they allow him to hold their child or attempt to stop a drunken stranger from grabbing their 7 month old baby? The policeman, whether on duty or not, should be revoked of his title and tried for public disturbance for being drunk in public as well as assault for throwing the child to the ground. I hope the child and the parents of the child will be okay.

The Spanish government has started construction on four new submarines with the Spanish state owned shipbuilder Navantia. The first submarine to be completed has one small problem, IT DOESNT COME TO THE SURFACE. The engineers at Navantia were informed by American engineers at Electric Boat that their submarine was 70 tons too heavy. It turns out that somebody misplaced a decimal in the very beginning of the project and nobody bothered to notice. The Spanish government has a total of 2.7 billion dollars invested already and they will have to pay 14 million dollars just to figure out how to correct the problem along with the actual cost of fixing the submarines.

    http://o.canada.com/news/spain-builds-submarine-70-tons-too-heavy/

HAHA. This is hilarious. I have misplaced a decimal before; it cost me a couple of points on a math test. The Spanish misplaced a decimal and it cost them billions of dollars. I wonder where that engineer got his degree, surely he could get a refund on his tuition if he explained his current situation to the university. What makes this story even better is that it was an American based company that found the problem, with all of the badgering of how bad the American public school system is. On a more serious note, the engineer who miscalculated should be exiled to Siberia where they shall live their life out teaching math to the Cossacks.

After the partial government shutdown closed the monument, the state decided to reopen it on the morning of October 13, 2013. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the state legislature have agreed to pay costs of operation until the federal government reopens. The decision was made based on the fact that the statue being closed is, in the long run, costing the state more than the $61,600 a day to open it. The statue supplies the state with around $200 million a year and the government shutdown was greatly harming New York's income. Other state monuments such as the Grand Canyon and Mount Rushmore are also being reopened through state funding.

I think it is good that monuments are reopening, but it is unfortunate that the states are having to pay operation costs on their own. I believe that it should be a top priority that the government shutdown end for many reasons, one of which is state economies suffering greatly. States with huge tourist attractions rely on them as a main part of their economy, and the suffering that they are experiencing is extremely unfortunate.

  21. NORTH KOREAN DEFECTORS GET THEIR HOPES UP

A small group of young North Korean defectors were immersed in harsh living conditions, such as being forced to search for food from dumpsters due to their escape from North Korea into China. Sometimes they would be on the streets and temperatures would drop so low that it caused them to suffer from frostbite. In December of 2009, a missionary couple discovered these boys and ultimately took them under their wing: their goals was to get these boys from China to Laos, and then to either the United States or South Korea where they would be safe. They went along their long journey to Laos, where 9 of the boys were discovered by officials and were ultimately questioned. After the questioning was over with, Laotian authorities told the boys that they would be going to South Korea, when the truth was that they were being sent back to North Korea.

This is actually so sad to me. The fact that these boys were being lied to and were getting their hopes up for nothing is so wrong. And also, it’s crazy to think that even though the Laotian officials and authorities are most likely aware of what they would be sending these boys back to, they would still do it. There must have been some way that they could’ve made things work out to where the North Korean defectors would have freedom. It was also very thoughtful for the missionary couple to help them out, and I believe that we need more people like them in our world.

The Laotian people that lied to the boys they were going to South Korean most likely did so in order to avoid conflicts that come with escapees.

On July 23, 1991 Police found the decomposed body of a little girl in an ice chest on the side of the New York roadway. She had been smothered and sexually molested and was so unrecognizable several sketches had to be made to tell somewhat of what she looked like. She was later given the name "baby Hope". Twenty-two years later she is identified as 4 year old Angelica Castillo. On Saturday the police arrested Conrado Juarez, the man they believe killed her. He happens to be her cousin. The police never gave up hope of finding the little girl's true identity. In fact, every year on the anniversary they would hand out flyers asking if anyone could identify her or give them any information. After Juarez's arrest he finally admitted to murdering little Angelica Castillo. Two years after she was found detectives donated an official resting spot for her and even gave her a tombstone.

    RE: BEING HOMELESS MADE ILLEGAL

I agree that this act would be a push for a new start for some homeless people. Some reasons why people are homeless are because they slack off on payments, or can't find a job. This way they are sort of being forced to pick themselves up and start over. But I also agree with Alexis' thought. Are homeless people really the main cause of crimes? Would this act help decrease the crime rate? I believe it wouldn't help all that much, because not all homeless people are criminals. There are some really sweet homeless people out there that are just having a rough time. And we shouldn't label them as criminals.

  23. WHY EGYPT'S ECONOMY MATTERS TO THE US NATIONAL SECURITY

For two years now, Egypt has been struggling economically due to an increase of violence which has lessened the hope for economic rebound and led to a widespread frustration because the government fails to create jobs and opportunities for the Egyptians. Hisham Fahmy, CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, states that "Tourism has dried up and a lot of people are out of work." due to the difficulty for economy and businesses to grow during the President Mohamed Morsi's regime. It is believed that Egypt must first get its security under control before Egypt can move forward, as there has been a dramatic rise in violence and higher food prices. In 2012, murders rose 130 percent, robberies increased 350 percent, and kidnappings spiked 145 percent. The higher food prices has gone up 10 percent as of June 2013, leaving families to spend half of their income on food. A well secure Egypt will help bring the country's 13 percent of unemployed people back into jobs. Tourism is an important factor of employment opportunities as it is a way of foreign investment that will help Egypt's economy grow.

  24. BOAT SINKS IN THE MEDITERRANEAN

A boat carrying African American migrants to Europe sunk on October 3, 2013. The boat turned over in the middle of the Mediterranean near the island of Lampedusa. In an attempt to make their position known to anyone nearby, passengers light a blanket on fire hoping that the smoke would attract help. Unfortunately, the the fire on the blanket quickly spread to a nearby gasoline tank. This caused a massive panic and eventually the lit gasoline caused the boat to sink. At least 94 people were killed and about 250 others are still missing.

    http://www.infoplease.com/news/2013/current-events/science-disasters_oct.html

I think it is weird that the boat even turned over in the first place. There must have been something that caused this. Plus, the fact that such a small thing, like a blanket, could have caused such a massive boat to sink is unbelievable. A boat of such a size should have had some kind of flare or emergency signal it could have used instead of the passengers having to light a blanket on fire and hope for help. Over 300 people are gone because of this incident that could have been prevented had the boat captain been more organized and prepared for it.

RE: "BABY HOPE" HAS A NAME

I can't believe that the police kept trying to find out what her name was even after twenty-two years! I'm so glad that the police didn't give up on this case. Imagine if they would have given up years ago, would anyone have ever accused Conrado Juarez or would we have a killer walking among us? This just proves that the United States has a police force that is never going to let a criminal walk free.

RE: CATASTROPHIC STORM LEAVES UP TO 100,000 CATTLE DEAD

It's unbelievable how one storm can kill so many cattle. Luckily there has only been one human death as apposed to all of the cattle deaths. The ranchers must be having a hard time since their cattle and ranches were their livelihood. What would it be like if a storm like that swept through Texas and destroyed our homes? Hopefully they will be able to get through this without too many problems. The loss of electricity has definitely made the situation a lot harder for these people but if they work together I'm sure they will be able to regain what was lost. They are doing good to care for their surviving cattle, life goes on and as ranchers they can't ignore what they still have.

The Central African Republic has gone haywire ever since President Francois Bozize was expelled by the rebels. One week ago, United Nations Security Council approved of Frances resolution that the Central African Republic stick to the original plan to elect officials in 2015. The European conflict has already led to 400,000 people being pushed out of their homes. 2,500 troops have already been sent out, but need the support of more troops due to a lack of resources. The troops who are already out in the Central African Republic are asking for assistance, which in my opinion must be a serious request considering the sources. Time should not be wasted. I also believe that an election should take place before the requested date to, hopefully, limit the chances of another rebel alliance taking over while there is no official government.

Another interesting fact about the curiosity rover is that even though the government shut down has stopped the funding for several programs, the curiosity project is funding by another organization allowing for the rover to continuously collect data and not slow down its research!

    http://www.theguardian.com/science/2013/sep/26/nasa-curiosity-rover-mars-soil-water

I believe this is a great discovery! The idea of mars previously having water is mind blowing! Like it would be interesting to look into what NASA is cooking up in ideas for things they could do with this new information. Could they use mars as a stopping point to go deeper into space? Could they somehow stabilize mars? Could there maybe be a space station put on mars? I would not be surprised if this type of talk is brought up in room for discussion, and with the way technology is going, who knows, maybe things like that would be possible!

I totally agree with Duane on this one. Water on Mars could be a clue to another life form that we haven't discovered, yet. I'm not necessarily talking about another intelligent life form, but it would be pretty mind blowing to come into contact with another civilization outside of our own that we didn't know existed. They could be more advanced than us and they could answer some of life's big questions that we simply don't understand. What if we could settle on Mars, like a space colony? Would you go?

I agree this is a great discovery. It leads us to asks so many questions, as scientific discoveries usually do. Even more striking is the potential we have on mars. Can we make little habitable shelters on Mars to avoid the overpopulation on Earth? Afterall we are a consumer society, we always try to look for ways that resources can be helpful to our consumption.

    4. Stabilizing mars would take immense amounts of energy it's highly unlikely that countries would think of doing this anytime in the near future or even for that matter in the far future. It might become a possibility if we eventually establish positive relationships, or even neutral ones, between a large majority of countries, however with the world divided so much as it is right now the thought of colonizing another planet is highly unpractical even with the amount of benefits it would bring us.

  30. MAN STABBED TO DEATH CAUSES PROTEST

A man had been stabbed to death in Southern Moscow. On Sunday, Russian police detained almost 400 people in the same place as the stabbing. People believed that migrants working in a vegetable market were the ones that committed the stabbing. The 25-year old man still has not been identified.

    http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/13/world/europe/russia-protests/index.html?c=europe

This is crazy, I believe that the people had a right to protest considering how upset they were. However, they did not know exactly who did it which is not fair. Police should be taking care of it. That's the only right thing to do. But rest in peace to the man that was murdered at such a young age.

RE: "BABY HOPE" HAS A NAME
This story is truly incredible. The fact that the family and force did not give up on this little girl really shows that this world can be a good place that wants to do right. This poor little girl however, did not deserve to be killed. Now that her murderer has been identified, her and her family can be at peace.

RE: 6 YEAR OLD BOYS DROWNS ON CRUSIE SHIP
This is really sad considering that this drowning could have been preventable. I agree with Austen on the fact that there should be lifeguards. 31. AFGHANISTAN: MP SAYS 'KILL CHRISTIANS'
Abdul Sattar Khawasi, A prominent member of the Afghani Parliament recently suggested that any Afghan that converts from Islam to Christianity should be put to death. This is not uncommon in the Middle East, especially in areas that are being taken over by religious radicals. But this is not the end of the story, even more recently an MP known as Nazir Ahmad Hanafi, has made statements demanding that Christian converts be put to death. Many Afghanis have moved to India and converted there, so Hanafi demanded that their government put pressure on Indian authorities to provide a list of converts living there. Many of the Afghan immigrants living in India came as early as 2001 fleeing violence due to Taliban conflicts and religious extremism continually being pushed in the government. Around 200-250 Afghan immigrants have formed a congregation in New Delhi known as the Afghan Church of New Delhi. Moreover many of the members of the Afghan Parliament believe that the US long-term attack plan is to deteriorate the culture, which they fear the Afghani converts are doing.

    http://www.persecution.com/public/newsroom.aspx?story_ID=NjE1&featuredstory_ID=Mzk4&clickfrom=ZmVhdHVyZWRzdG9yaWVz

I believe that Afghans should have the freedom to choose whatever religious view point they would prefer. Societies have evolved over hundreds of years to become more tolerant of other peoples’ viewpoints. Now of course we cannot barge and force our political ideals on another place of another culture. But we must protect people from the threat of tyranny, which is exactly what is beginning to happen in Afghanistan. A few religious radicals who make up a so- called parliament (which is supposed to be representative of its people not suppressive) enforce their own ideology on the country. And moreover, not only will they force you to conform, if you don’t they will kill you! That my friends is called TYRANNY. So what must we do support those who are not conforming. Support those who are practicing their Unalienable right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

A car being chased by the police drives onto a pair of traintracks in Utah on October 13th. The pursued vehicle, a Mercedes, was being driven by a female whose age is not identified. The train's horn could be heard before the passing of the first train as well as the second train. The car was within both of the train's reach just barely on the first but was pushed down the railway upon the passing of the second train. The driver only suffered a broken arm and no permanent injuries but the vehicle was evidently damaged on a larger scale. It is not written wether the driver was intoxicated while operating the vehicle or if she willingly drove onto the traintracks in order to pass the train. The officers pursuing the vehicle attempted to help the woman out of the vehicle after her car was struck by the train, but were stopped by the next train.

In India many women feel that having lighter skin color is beautiful. the buy tons of creams in hopes of lighter skin and more often than not men seek lighter color women for arranged marriages even going as far as to list it as one of the things they are seeking. there is an entire industry worth $400 million that's main focus is skin lightening creams.

    http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/25/world/asia/indian-ideal-of-beauty/index.html?hpt=wo_mid

This is terrible, people in India shouldn't judge each other's looks based on how fair there skin is. They need to embrace who they are, and not judge so harshly by somebody's appearance. I think the industry that is making these creams should take a second look at their moral standards. Even if this is what is in demand it doesn't mean they should encourage it. I believe the situation would defiantly improve if they stopped selling these creams. By doing so it would make it much harder for women in India to find these products and they might stop worrying so much about how light colored they are. At first it might not help, but continuing to sell these products is only going to make things worse. Indian women need to learn how to love themselves and others around them by their personalities and quirks, and not by how light or tall or skinny they are.

I personally think that all cultures have a certain view of what they idolize to be beautiful. In the eastern hemisphere, beauty might be defined by having light skin so that results in the manufacturing of lightening creams to target those women who strive to fit in the category of what they call beautiful. In the western hemisphere, media is promoting tan skin which then leads to people going to tanning salons and buying tanning lotion. Do you think that people from across the globe are saying the same thing about us and how we should embrace our natural skin color instead of going tanning? I agree that people should embrace who they are and shouldn’t be judged by the color of their skin, however, some parts of the world have a social structure to where women aren’t able to express themselves outside of their appearance as freely as others may get to.

The flooding was caused by heavy rains that produced record levels of rainfall. Because of the floods, the University of Colorado's main campus closed and many students and staff members had to evacuate. Officials expect the death toll to rise and with more rain coming it is harder to rescue people and their homes.

  40. MARATHONER DIDN'T BREATHE FOR A MONTH

42 year old Victor Carlos ran towards the huge finish line a year ago in a marathon, but instead of thinking that he would receive a medal, he received a near death situation. Victor was rushed to the hospital after not receiving oxygen. Doctors say that he did not have many of his organs functioning well, had acute respiratory distress syndrome, and even his bone marrow was apparently not working as well. The reason to all of this was simply because he had a bad case of the flu. It had cause for a bacterial infection to happen and thus caused for the bad situation. The doctors had no choice but to force oxygen to his lungs by machine. His body did not voluntarily take a single breathe until a month later of the accident. After recovering, Victor started to exercise and run once again, preparing for future marathons.

    http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/11/health/miracle-marathoner-carlos/index.html?hpt=us_t4

In my opinion I think that it's truly amazing how this guy survived all of that happening to him. Organs failing? Bone marrow failing? All because of the simple flu too? However I can't help but be concerned for him since he's starting to run again. Is he not afraid that the same thing might happen again? Are his family and friends against him doing this?

    RE: INDIA'S OBSESSION
That does sound very terrible. Why do they obsess over light skin? Looks should not be the reason why one marries another. Also, millions focusing on skin lightening creams? That sounds pretty bizarre. Personality should come first before looks, not the other way around. This does not just go to women in India, but to women around the world.

  41. WOMEN CLAIMS POLICE BRUTALITY BY SKOKIE POLICE

Cassandra Feuerstein, who has had a clean record, had been arrested for a DUI and taken into custody when a male officer named Michael Hart had shoved her into a cement bench. The video footage taken from the surveillance cameras shows that Cassandra leaves the room to call either her husband or children; once she returns we see that Officer Hart shoves Cassandra into the room with enough force to knock her into the cement bench face first. The repercussion we see is the amount of blood on the floor and the other two officers calling for help and later after the event surgery and bruising. During the video we never once see Cassandra acting violent or aggressive which Officer Hart claimed and even filled a law suit for! Later the charges were dropped once the evidence/video had arisen. Now Cassandra is the one filling a law suit against Officer Hart for "the use of excessive force violated her civil rights."

Second, I would find it very hard to believe that a women who has had no ticket, or arrests would act either aggressive or violent to any of the officers. 43. HIV CURE ON THE HORIZON

Dr. Louis Picker demonstrates promise of an HIV cure by his vaccine experimentation with Rhesus macaque monkeys who cured themselves of a form of chimpanzee HIV after being vaccinated. Through his observations, the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) can be eradicated by immune response with the vital assistance of another virus, the Cytomegalovirus (CMV). Picker knowingly infected the monkeys with Simian Immunodeficiency Virus (SIV), which is more lethal than HIV and usually kills all infected monkeys within two years. The vaccine that he created to purge the SIV consisted of an insertion of morsels of the SIV virus itself and the CMV. Bits of neutralized SIV were being transported through the monkeys’ bodies at a rapid pace along with the CMV. The immune systems of the monkeys’ were competent enough to diagnose the SIV and generate antibodies to fight it.

    http://m.allafrica.com/stories/201310100313.html/?maneref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dhiv%2Bmonkey%2Bcure%26oq%3DHIV%2Bmonkey%2Bc%26gs_l%3

This experimentation ameliorated the medical world by opening up a myriad of new prospects to find a cure for HIV. If they implemented the same steps they used to cure the SIV then they’d likely be able to create a vaccine for HIV as well. Although HIV/AIDS is not as prominently feared as they were when they were first discovered, it remains a threat to certain groups that are in jeopardy of catching the virus and continues to spread. I think that people with HIV will continue to have a longer life span due to improved medication that are and will be available in the future. However, every person should become educated so that they will know what actions make you liable to AIDS.

It was already bad enough for the parents of Kendrick Johnson to hear about his death, sadly investigators have doubts that his death was accidental. Kendrick was found dead at Lowndes County High School in January as medical examiners say that the athlete suffocated after getting stuck in a rolled up gym mat trying to reach for a shoe. Kendrick's parents did not believe that explanation causing them to win a court's order to have Kendrick's body exhumed and a second autopsy. In Kendrick's second autopsy, Dr. Bill Anderson conducted the autopsy and as he opened up the teen, every organ from his pelvis to his skull had already been removed. The funeral homeowner Antonio Harrington said that he never received the organs that the organs "were destroyed through natural process" by how the body was positioned when Kendrick died. Instead, what replaced Kendrick's Johnson's organs were newspaper as if he was garbage can. The president of the National Association of Medical Examiners, Dr.Gregory Schmunk tells CNN that he has never heard of this type of practice before. Anderson identifies that there was a blow to the right side of his neck that was consistent with inflicted injury and conclude that the teen did not die of the positional asphyxiation, but as a result of "unexplained, apparent non-accidental, blunt force trauma." From the first autopsy, Kendrick's blow to the neck was never stated nor even checked. Kendrick's parents have come to believe that this was no accident whatsoever and wants justice for their son.

  47. 12 AND 14 YEAR OLDS FACE 3RD DEGREE FELONY CHARGES ABOUT BULLYING

In Florida September 10 of this year, Rebecca Sedwick jumped from three stories high to her death. Rebecca was 12 years old, and had been physically and verbally bullied( consisting of cyber bullying as well) by two other girls, ages 12 and 14. These two girls have been charged with "aggravated stalking" and had been sent to a juvenile detention center, only to be released under house arrest. Before she committed suicide, Sedwick's mother had gone as far as to remove her from school. However, online Rebecca was still targeted. The girls who bullied her completely owned up to doing so, and the 12 year old, whom used to be Rebecca's best friend, fell into the rest of the group of kids, claiming they only bullied Rebecca because they feared being bullied themselves. The 14 year old was reported saying, "Yes I bullied Rebecca and she killed herself, but I don’t give a (expletive)” , showing no remorse whatsoever.

    IN MY OPINION

This is a very serious case. If I were Sedwick's mother, not only would I have pulled her out of school, but I would have refused her access to the internet, considering that is where a lot of the bullying took place as well. If she was being severely threatened online, she shouldn't have spent her time reading such harassing comments by her tormenters.
I believe that even though these girls were young, they should receive the most severe punishment for their age group, if not a bit higher. 12 and 14 seem very young to me, and if change does not ensue in their hearts soon, they will be extremely harmful to society forever. I believe more precautions could have been taken - Rebecca, ( if she did not do so), should have gone for help, or learned to stand up for herself. I am a big fan of "only the strong survive". In NO way did she deserve to die, and it is saddening, but there are ways to be strong.

This is absolutly horrible! It is awful to hear that people would go and kill someone for going against something they believe in. I am curious to know what the protesting was about and if it was something that goes against what the farmers do for a living. Either way, its still horrible that protesting can lead to violence and deaths. That last thing that kind of confuses me is, if the body hasnt been identified, how do we know hes 25?

Its awful that people would try to kill a 16 year old girl because she spoke out and exclaimed what she believed in. Even if "she was going against the rules of Islam," that doesn't give a person or group the right to shoot someone, especially a teenage girl.

In the central part of the Philippines earlier this week, a giant 7.1 earthquake hit in the provinces of Cebu and Bohol. There were at least 67 people killed and possibly 164 or more were injured. A news agency in the Philippines says that most of the people were killed from falling rubble. the tragic earthquake covered about 385 miles of the country. Maryann Zamora, a communications specialist, recalled to have seen debris as far as 60 kilometers north of the main part from where the earth quake hit. There were more than 10 aftershocks.

Earthquakes are always tragic no matter where there happen. This one specifically is larger than most earthquakes. There were a lot of deaths in this one also. It will take the people of the country to bounce back from such a hard devastation. Many people are hurting physically and the country is hurting economically. Hopefully the country as a whole can come together to get things back to the way things were and get others to help as well.

In the past three weeks four churches in Arlington have been vandalized with Spanish graffiti. The vandals hit Shepherd of Life Lutheran Church and Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church were church members discovered the graffiti. Based on the way the way the graffiti was written and the messages given these two cases are linked. On Tuesday police stated that they arrested Marcellino Tello because he matched a description of a man seen on a surveillance video at one of the churches and based on police interviews he is assumpted to have been involved in all four cases. No image of Tello has been released do to on going investigation.

I think this is ridiculous for a person to vandalize a church. Why would they want to vandalize a place where someone worships their God. In the Case of Marcellino Tello I think the police need more evidence in order to say Tello is responsible for all four church cases.

Brazil has been known for high unemployment rates and low education. This is not good for the younger generation of Brazilians. And despite many "economic boom times", with Brazils vast and growing population, it has defiantly taken its toll on the people. In 2009, figures showed that barely a fifth of Brazilians aged 15 - 19 weren't in education, employment or training. In Sao Paolo, many teenagers are having difficult times supporting themselves, and relying on their friends and family. Teenagers have been protesting these faults and finally they've come to a draw. These teenagers, more than other groups, created a united voice that helped move the protests along.

I totally agree with Veronica! A church is a place of worship, a place where many people are truly themselves and only then. They're able to ask forgiveness or just pray. To many people its a safe haven or security blanket. And the fact that someone is so inconsiderate as to try and destroy that is unnecessary and ridiculous. Its their belief system! not a canvas!

  54. POLICE: MAN ENRAGED BY LOUD PARTY STABS 4

In Colorado Springs, a loud apartment party disturbed and enraged a man which caused him to stab four people Sunday night. Police say 23 year old Saul Lucas stabbed four different victims once; one in the head, one in the shoulder, another in the forearm, and sliced a fourth person's ear. However they are all expected to recover steadily. Dionicio Martinez, the host of the party, had left his apartment briefly before the attack and returned after four of his friends were injured and taken to the hospital. Martinez described to KRDO NewsChannel 13 that Lucas seemed as a timid and shy person, without ever really speaking to him before. Lucas is currently an active soldier that is stationed at Fort Carson. He is faced with charges of attempted murder and other similar crimes.

I believe that Lucas must be lacking a little sense somewhere in his mind. Perhaps, being an active soldier, he might have gotten injured and was permanently damaged, however I do believe he received the right charges for the crimes he committed. Lucas could have easily asked his neighbors to settle down if they were too rowdy instead of barging in and injuring innocent people.

After one of his public speakings, Bell was confronted by a Sheriff who was inspired because he has a gay son. The Sheriff asked Bell to come speak to the youths of his county, but unfortunately on his walk over he was struck by a vehicle on the highway. The Sheriff rushed to the scene to find Bell dead. He announced to the crew on the scene who the man was, and followed by saying a small prayer. Sheriff Nestor says, "He may not have reached his destination but I feel like he completed his mission."

    IN MY OPINION

This is a a double tragedy starting all the way back to Joe Bell's son's death. Bell was a hero and an inspiring man. When reading this article I was truly inspired that Bell decided to WALK his long journey. Teachers in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janiero began with a peaceful march with more than 10,000 people in the center of Rio who had been protesting for better pay and working conditions for over 2 months, but was soon overrun by masked men, believed to be an anarchist group referred to as the "Black Bloc" who threw firebombs at public buildings and set fire to police cars, which the police responded by using tear and pepper gas. In Sao Paulo, hooded protesters broke into banks and ransacked them while fighting back against the police by utilizing shop windows as shields, gas masks, and more. These protests turned violent were led by small anarchist groups and occurred just as night began to fall. Hugo Cryois, a 23 year-old anarchist says, "Without the police, there is no violence. When they are there, there always is... I came prepared... You can't trust them." These violent protests are also a security situation for the Brazilian cities that will host the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games, as these protests spread to surrounding cities such as Belo Horizonte and Brasilia.

I agree with the peaceful protests led by the teachers for better pay and working conditions as they should have the right to these protests, but as the riots broke out the illegal destruction of public property is wrong and the offenders should be apprehended. The use of tear and pepper gas by police was a rational and sensible way to control mass amounts of irrational people who have caused harm to the city and possibly other people. The Brazilian government should begin to worry about security as major sporting events that will occur in their cities may possibly rouse up more riots and anarchist groups to devastate the public.

It has been two years after civil war and Syria's violence still tends to horrify many. It is said that at least 20 people had been killed, which included a child. This all occurred on Monday, when a car bomb went off. Many are wounded and because of this they believe that the death toll will increase.

This is horrible because it clearly shows that no one is safe and that they haven't been safe for quite a while. No one will know when chaos will occur. It will give many people a 'death scare' because of this unpredictability. Since this isn't very safe, people will need to take many precautions in order to protect not only themselves, but their family as well.

They should also tighten the security by checking and testing the water holes and feeding troughs for poison regularly. This will ensure that the animals are in the protection of the parks certified animal staff so that further poisoning can be stopped.

She went to trial and was found guilty for violating the KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) law on segregation between sexes, based on Sharia Law, and simply because she got in the car of a fellow male student (who later participated in the gang rape). She was sentenced to 90 lashes initially, but when her lawyer appealed and claimed the sentencing was unjust, her sentence was then more than doubled to 200 lashes. Her lawyer has since made pleads to international entities to assist and free his client.

In my opinion, this is a gross example of rape culture and the role religious degradation of women has in rape culture. Bearing shades eerily similar to the Steubenville and New Delhi rape cases, where the victims of the rape (and in the latter, murder) were accused of "deserving it" or "bringing it upon themselves", which has been a misogynist excuse used by men to "slut-shame" women into conforming to their standards; where any woman who refuses to accept their oppression, is therefore deserving of and responsible for their rape, assault, etc. It also shows highly sexist oppression, which is not exclusive to, but prominent in theocratic states.

If your motive is to get them back on their feet, why not spend more time making legislation that creates jobs? Especially considering minimum wages are not sufficient for living wages. But instead, let's crowd our prisons even more! Let's spend more money paying for their incarceration! It's highly ironic considering in 2010, South Carolina passed legislation to reduce inmates.(www.thestate.com/2013/01/13/2587969/how-sentencing-reform-is-saving.html)
It costs the taxpayers $17,342 to keep an person in prison. In turn, it makes the prison industrial complex a profit. And as we all know, corporations are people, and more important than actual people.

  73. GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN: CONGRESS FAILS TO AGREE ON A BUDGET AND PASS A SPENDING LAW

On October 1, because congress could not agree on a budget, nor pass a spending law they made the decision to shut down the government. First of all, they could not pass a bill due to the conflict with the Obamacare. Although, Republicans are making sure a bill gets passed, which was this weekend. Many people who receive financial help from the government will see a delay, just because they are making sure all is well before government is up and going again. It has been said that by November 22, if Obama agrees to negotiate with the Republicans that they will expect a voting the House within 24-hours. Government is expecting to hit extreme debt Oct. 17.

    http://www.infoplease.com/news/2013/current-events/us_oct.html

Honestly, I wish government could be working quickly and efficiently. The government shut down is not only going to affect those who receive financial help from the government, but those who work for the government. Families of workers who work for the government depend on them. Without the pay that specific family will not only go into debt, but possibly poverty. It's understandable that it takes a long process for the government to get the government back and running, but they really need to put into consideration that some people's live are counting on them.

Even though he did not know the man, only what he could have done, he knew that could have made a difference in that county.

An American named James Lunn was arrested for a car bombing in northern Sinai in August. He was found dead in a Egyptian police station on Sunday. On August 27 after being arrested he had committed suicide by hanging himself with his shoelaces and belt from the bathroom in the Awal police station. They had found evidence of what his plans were after he had committed suicide. And the State Department had their thoughts go out to the family and hoped they could cope with their lose.

My thought is why would he do that in the first place? We talk about terrorist and bad they are but does not mean we should do the same thing back to our enemies. And what if they would go off easy on him but he wouldnt know because he committed suicide.

In a city infested with violence among the community, 81 children and members of the church were killed in Peshwar, Pakistan, when two suicide bombers entered the church on Sunday, and blew themselves up in the thick of a crowd. After news of the bombing spread through the country, many protestors proceeded to the streets attacking police officers. Many Christian leaders and followers believe that the Pakistan government is to blame for not protecting the Christian minority against militants.

I believe that there is no one to blame for this incident. I see that the Christians in Pakistan feel they need protecting against the Muslim dominated country for fear of their safety, but they must not trust that the government can save them from all other attacks that may concur, but must rely on the unity within the Christian community.

Friday night, November 8th, there was a car bombing outside of a hotel in Somalia's capital. This bombing killed 5 people and left at least 15 injured. One of the people that were killed was the Somalian government's former acting envoy to Britain, which leads the Somalian's to think this was a terrorist attack. At this time, it is unknown who was behind the attack. What the Somalian's do know is that they "will stand shoulder-to-shoulder to defeat these killers," and that this will "make [us] stronger." This is not the first time Somalia has seen an attack like this, previous attacks like this have been caused by al Qaeda-linked organizations.

On May 8th of this year, a school district in Arkansas cancelled sixth-grade graduation ceremonies because an out of state organization wanted to sue the school over a student-led graduation prayer. This organization, known as the FREEDOM FROM RELIGION FOUNDATION, did this because they claimed it was against the U.S. Constitution.
“It makes no difference how many families want prayer or wouldn’t be offended by prayer at their graduation ceremony,” wrote FFRF attorney Patrick Elliott. “The Supreme Court has settled this matter – school graduations must be secular to protect the freedom of conscience of all students.” (Todd Starnes)

    My Opinion:
It really sickened me to read this. It was ridiculous. I'm growing up in a world where even a prayer in public can't be said because of the fear of offending someone. They need to be reminded that it was Freedom OF Religion, not Freedom FROM Religion.

To help solve the over population problem in China they have enforced a one child law to every family. It is possible for families to buy their second child a "hukou" that will give them the same rights as their first child. 20 year old Li Xue is a second child and has been denied rights to education, healthcare, and housing that would be granted if her parents were to pay the high amount needed to buy a "hukou". Li gets her education from her older sister, but dreams of going to school and getting an education for herself. The family has petitioned for Li to be given her rights and they have received notice that they will have their case will be evaluated by Beijing High People's Court where her case could go either way. Ultimately Li's parents are hoping to be given an answer on why their child has not been given a "hukou".

    http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/10/world/asia/china-second-child/index.html?hpt=hp_t3

I find it hard to believe that even after 20 years a second child is still being denied the right to an education. Even if it is illegal to have a second child she has done no harm to society in all the years she has been alive so why not give her an education? If anything giving her this will better her community and China with whatever profession she chooses. Li is no use when she has no rights to do anything. The fact that they even have to pay such a high amount to get her hukou proves just how desperate China is to get money. He managed to kick in the back door and saw a man stabbing Arceneaux, so he raised his gun and took aim, killing the kidnapper. When police arrived, they identified the body as Scott Thomas, a man who fathered Arceneaux's child and had previously violated a restraining order she had filed against him. Arceneaux went to the hospital with wounds, but is expected to recover, and the sheriff's department declared the cousin acted within a state law that allows deadly force to be used to prevent great bodily harm or death.

The poor woman had to put a restraining order against her kidnapper, only to have him violate it a second time. This time it was way more serious, and I'm glad that she is alive, her kidnapper is dead, and her cousin is (very most likely) not going to be penalized for what he did to save her.

I agree that this should be a sign that we are getting closer and closer to sea life. It would be smart if we tried to stay clear of each other. This could cause serious damage to machinery is sea life were to come in contact with a machine and it could cause harm for both us and sea life.

RE: MURDER OF 16-YEAR-OLD SHANIA GREY
Franklin Davis is pretty much crazy. He admitted to murdering her but still tried to convince the court that he was not guilty. Regardless of what Grey did, she did not deserve to be murdered. No one does. He went to uncalled for actions which still makes him guilty. Regardless, he will be going to prison.
